C. Remote Control System
The Remote Control System consists basically in two elements:
- Hydraulic power unit (just for hydraulic controlled valves).
- Solenoid Racks (for Hydraulic or pneumatic actuation).
Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU)
Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) is designed to supply the motive fluid to the equipment for enabling the operation of the hydraulic cylinders of the valves.
Dennis Nakakita hydraulic equipment´s normally work under a pressure rating from 60 to 80 bar, although they are suitable for a working pressure rating from 40 to 200 according to the requirements and specifications of each customer. Capacity and pressure outside this range are available upon request.
Solenoid Racks (SR)
Solenoid Racks (SR) allow the control and the position signalling of each of the hydraulic operated valves.
The hydraulic system consists of two main lines, one for supplying and the other one for the return of the oil. These two lines link the HPU and the SR, from which two hydraulic pilot pipes come out to each one of the hydraulic actuators of the valves when the operation is double action. When it is single action, there will be just one pipe to each one of the actuators.
D. Accessories:
1. Flow Meters (Volumetric) Position Indicator
The valve position indicator FLOWMETER is a combined unit with mounting surface for directional control valves NG 06 according to ISO 4401. In detail the module consists of a hydraulic manifold, a gear type volume counter and an indicator.
Illustrates Valve Position Indicators, FLOWMETER
The Flowmeter position indication devise is designed to locally visualize as well as remotely indicate the position of hydraulically operated butterfly valves. The Flow-meter is a combined unit that consists by a directional valve and it's control modules, together with the hydraulic gear driven components (a hydraulic manifold, a gear type volume counter and an indicator).
This option is particularly convenient when the valve is located in a submerged/non accessible place, or in hazardous areas, avoiding the preparation for the special cabling and the costs involved. In such way, the valve position is obtained by measuring the actual quantity of oil flowing to or from the valve actuator.

2. Emergency Manual Actuator
The emergency hand control for hydraulic and pneumatic actuators is an optional element that enables manual operation of the valve in the event of an anomaly in the actuator cylinder or lack of motor fluid preventing the valve from operating.
It is fitted on the housing of the actuator on the opposite side from the cylinder and on the same geometric axis, forming a single unit along with it.
The emergency hand control is constructed in two different ways, depending on the operating torque and on the diameter and series of the valves.

3. Pumps – Emergency Hand Pumps
Illustrates Fixed and Portable Emergency Hydraulic Hand Pumps
FIXED
The fixed hydraulic hand pumps are usually mounted in the series with the critical valves, e.g.: the sea chest/fore peak tank valve.
- To be mounted directly on the actuator, on bulkhead or in watertight box on deck.
- Control valve for directional control.
- 2 x Isolation valves.
- 1 relief valve.
- 1-2 x Manometers for pressure indication.
- 2-20 litre oil reservoir.
- Dry weight from 7.5 kg.
PORTABLE
The portable hydraulic hand pumps are used for manual override at either the solenoid valve cabinet or the valve location.
- Connection to Solenoid Valve Cabinet or to emergency blocks mounted on actuator or on deck.
- Mounted on a frame with wheels for easy transport and operation.
- 1 – 3 meter flexible hoses with quick couplings.
- 1-2 x Manometers for pressure indication.
- 2-5 litres oil reservoir.
- Up to 250 bar pressure.
- Dry weight from 6 kg.
